Gendering Camera

Masculine: composition shows male bigger than female.

Masculine: shot of female, however the lighting is dark and gloomy, and the men look as if they are controlling her.

Feminine: composition, female is bigger in shot however, can be argued that the male is dominant.

Feminine: close up of woman dominating frame, the lighting exaggerates her beauty, making her features look more smooth and soft, using soft lighting to make her more beautiful and feminine.

Masculine: hard lighting to show the man as more powerful, rugged and masculine.

Masculine: low angle shot showing her power as a woman. Strong and confident.

Feminine: high angle shot, showing a loss of power and masculinity. Weak and fragile.

Masculine: composition, male is bigger in the shot, alpha male leading the group, dominance and control.

Good Fellas.... Feminine: camera tracking is quite slow, moving through a relaxed environment of which associates with women.

Children of Men.... Masculine: camera tracking is fast paced, shaky and hesitant, moving through a battlefield environment.
